Raw banana fry is an excellent side dish for rice with sambar or rasam. Even this will go well with lemon rice, tamarind rice, and coconut rice.
In this preparation, we bake the whole banana in steam and use very little oil.

Coconut grated - 4 or 5 tsps
Ginger - small pc (grated)
Green chili or Red Chili
Coconut oil - 2 tsps
Bengal gram - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds
In an idli baking vessel, bake the whole raw bananas. Do not peel the skin, bake the bananas as such with the skin. Using a knife you can test whether it is completely baked.
Keep it aside and let it cool down. Only then you can grate it.
When it is completely cooled, remove the skin and grate the baked bananas slowly
and softly.
In a kadai, add coconut oil, then mustard seeds, bengal gram (kadalai paruppu), turmeric powder, red or green chilies of choice, a pinch of asafoetida. Then add curry leaves and salt.
Now add the grated bananas and coconut. Mix well smoothly. Dry raw banana fry is ready.
