Ash gourd spiced buttermilk - White pumpkin or winter melon spiced buttermilk - Poosanikkai buttermilk - Ash gourd coolant

White pumpkin or Ash gourd has many health benefits. It has an important place in our Ayurvedic medicine.

Ash gourd is rich in water, vitamins B, C, other minerals, and fiber. Buttermilk is rich in calcium and other minerals. Ash gourd with buttermilk and a few other spices is very good for digestion and aids in peptic ulcer.

It reduces excess heat in our body and can be taken as a mid-day drink.

Ingredients:

Ash gourd or White pumpkin - 2 pcs (little big as in the pic. chop it finely)
Buttermilk - 3/4th of a cup
Water - 1/4th of a cup
Salt - a pinch
Fenugreek or vendhayam powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander seeds or malli  powder - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida or Hing - a generous pinch
Coriander leaves


Preparation:

Put Ash gourd in a blender or in a mixie. Add salt and water and grind it smoothly.


Now add buttermilk, fenugreek powder, asafoetida, and coriander seeds powder and blend well.

Transfer this to a glass or stainless steel tumbler and garnish with coriander leaves.
